more like obsession lately!....over dye-ties

We have had the dye-ties in the salon for just about a month and they are selling like crazzzzzy!
They are a soft strech fabric that does not pull your hair or leave a dent when you take your hair tie out! I wear mine to bed everynight and it is so comfy! I even tried the true test yesterday and wore my headband while walking my dog in the pre-hurricane winds and it did not move. didn't leave a dent and best of allllll no headache!!! How amazing is that?!

You are not able to buy the dye-ties on thier website because you must be a retailer.  However, you can fundraise with dye-ties! Simply just go on their website for the fundraising application. Isn't everyone sick of having kids fundriase with wrapping paper or candy bars?! Dye-ties will be a great money maker becuase they are so cute and affordable!

Creator Hedi Haberling-Eske sounds like such a truley amazing woman, seeking to simply just put a smile on people's faces. Hedi states on her website "I wanted to have a product that was usefule, fun and fashionable."

Looking to raise money for a great cause....welllll you must check out Dye-Ties !!!!!

save your energy....don't shampoo everyday!

If you don't have very oily hair...
try shampooing every other day!

TIP: everyday shampoo routine=shampoo twice then condition!
  1. do a quick lather and rinse
  2. get a nice lather, do a good scrub and head massage
  3. condition! use the dollop the size of a quarter. lather it into the ends of your hair ONLY! use a comb to run it through. leave in for 3-5 mins and rinse!
simple deep conditioning
  1. add a moisture conditioner to the ends of your hair ( add to root area only if you have a VERY dry scalp)
  2. clip hair up and put on a shower cap
  3. shave your legs!
  4. now time to rinse out the conditioner!

Loving Lately Ombre!

I've been dyinggggg to do ombre on a client and I finally got the chance on Saturday! My fabulous client Allie wanted a change and was loving the look of ombre! I had so much fun doing it! Now I want to do it everyday!!!!!

Since I do a level 6 on Allie's base I had to use bleach when doing the ombre. The bleach will cut through the color.

Ombre Approach
  1. First I sectioned her hair into 5 sections.
  2. Teased up each section!!!! The bigger the better!!!! The teasing allows the bleached pieces to fall naturally as if allie's color grew out!
  3. Next I brushed on the bleach starting from the back sections. The tricks here were to place the bleach right under where the teasing stopped, to use the side of the brush for a natural look, and then using a dry brush to take of any extra globs of bleach.
  4. Now I added foils to the bleach for it to process.
  5. Then I kept a close eye on the bleach, checking it every few minutes until it was at the perfect golden color! And boy did I loveeeee the color!!!

Styling
I love the look of soft waves with ombre! I blowdryed the hair with volume by using Paul Mitchell's Awaphui Ginger Whip, which gives the hair a soft hold. I also used the Paul Mitchell Volumizing Spray on her roots for an extra little lift! I used a medium round brush to create body while blowdrying. Once her hair was dry I went in with a LARGE 1 1/2 inch curling iron. I took big sections and I sprayed each curl with Moroccan Oil Luminous Spray for a medium workable hold. After curling I used my fingers to brush the curls out a bit for a softer look then finished of with a little for Moroccan Oil Spray. Allie LOVVVED the end results....and so did I!

Salon Talk....

How to achieve a smooth blowdry with volume and still body????
Here's my 2 favorite products and techniques that I still use on just about every client..

Spray the It's a 10 Miracle Blowdry Volumizer to your roots.
Add just a dime size of It's a 10 Miracle Oil to the palm of your hand and rub palms together.
Run it through the shaft of your hair.
DO NOT go near your root. It will make your roots greasy and flat! YUCK!
Next scatter dry your hair with your fingers! Keep the dryer on high! Use your fingers to lift your root and get them dry and volumized!
Keep doing this until your hair is 80-85% dry.
Now start using a large round brush to smooth it out. It is easier to work in sections.
I also like to use a medium round brush around clients' faces to show off any angles.
Finish it off with a light workable spray.

Sound somewhat easy? Give it a try! Believe me "Practice makes perfect!"
Stay Pretty!

((LOVING LATELY)) A DAILY GLOW

I am currently lovingggggggg the Target Brand Up and Up Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer. A while back I tried out the Jergens Daily Glow and hated the smell and the shimmer it left on my skin. This past summer I was VERYYYY pregnant and couldn't stay in the sun too long so I discovered a love for this awesome Target product. It is usually $5.54 but it is on sale this week for $5.26! Jergens currently runs for $7.89 on target.com.
